Who is Warren Buffett?

Warren Buffett is an American business magnate, investor, and philanthropist. He is widely considered the most successful investor of the 20th century. Buffett is the chairman, CEO, and largest shareholder of Berkshire Hathaway, and is consistently ranked among the world’s wealthiest people. He was ranked as the world’s wealthiest person in 2008 and as the third wealthiest in 2015. In 2012 Time named Buffett one of the world’s most influential people.

The American entrepreneur has an estimated net worth of $63.1 billion as of August 2017, with most of his wealth coming from his holding in Berkshire Hathaway Inc. He is consistently ranked among the world’s wealthiest people and was ranked as the world’s wealthiest person in 2008 and as the third wealthiest in 2015.

The ‘Oracle of Omaha’ emerged from his early years as an investor with a Midas touch for finding undervalued stocks.

A Day in the Life of Warren Buffett

Morning Time Routine –

Morning routine is key to success. Warren Buffett is famous for his morning routine and how that has helped him become one of the most successful investors in history.

Warren Buffett day starts at 6am daily, and the first thing Buffett does in the morning is to read the financial pages until he has breakfast at around 7:30. He says that he can gather enormous amounts of information from these pages, and by calling people listed there, he can make an excellent investment. Thanks to this, he can determine what’s going on in the financial markets and he can react adequately to any changes.

For example, if he notices an increase in oil prices, he immediately calls the owners of oil companies to find out what they know. He also reads corporate reports, but not all – only those that have a deal with his own portfolio. He also reads economic reports and news stories, which are indicated by underlined passages in opinions on stocks and bonds that he reads each day.

After Breakfast Routine –

After breakfast, Buffett heads to his office by 9am and keeps working until lunch, which he eats in his office with a member of staff. Every day. Almost always a hamburger patty melts with grilled onions.

This is his main business meal of the day. Buffett listens to music while he eats lunch, regularly switching between opera and Broadway show tunes.

In the afternoon, Buffett takes a walk around the block with one of his employees. He calls it his “thinking” walk. At around 3pm, he returns to his office to watch the US financial market open and stay there for about an hour, before leaving for the day at around 4pm.
